There’s Hidden Treasure in YOUR Underwear Draw

Chorley-based Maternity underwear specialist bras4mums is joining the battle to protect women in Africa and giving UK women a boost by appealing for your pants…. and bras!

Most women have new or almost-new items in their underwear draw which don’t really fit, or were impulse buys. It’s time to dig them out ladies, as they could be doing good work elsewhere.

bras4mums founder Tracey-Jane Hughes – who also recently launched bras4all – explained: “One woman’s ill-fitting bra is another woman’s ticket to self-respect and confidence.

“In Zimbabwe lack of underwear is believed to have a direct link to sexual abuse. HOTmilk – one of our most popular manufacturers – is gathering donations of bras and knickers to provide women there with prestige which in turn protects them from sexual predators.

“We are also a collecting point for the BreastTalk  bra appeal, which provides this crucial underwear item for women who are homeless in the UK, or unable to afford them in developing world countries.

“For every kilo of bras collected by BreastTalk, a donation goes to Breast Cancer Campaign funds too, making it doubly valuable.”

Clean underwear in good condition can be posted to bras4mums or delivered to the company’s showroom at

White Bear Marina, Park Road, Adlington. Lancashire. PR7 4HZ

Tracey-Jane added: “All donated items will be split between the BreastTalk and HOTmilk, campaigns. So please get digging deep in that undies draw!”

July 2009 Update

Thank you so much for your bras. A massive box went at the end of May to the HOTmilk appeal. HOTmilk have now passed over their appeal to knickers4africa, so we are continuing to collect clean and useable bras and brand new cotton knickers for this appeal.

A big box has been sent this week to the BreastTalk appeal, and we've still got to sort through the rest of the items received which will be split between the 2 appeals. As long as you keep sending us your bras, we'll keep forwarding them to both appeals. If you want to add some new cotton knickers to your shopping list next time you're out, we'll happily pass those to the knickers4africa appeal.

October 2009 Update

Thank you for your continued support. however, we cannot store any more unwanted bras or new knickers just at the moment! Knickers4Africa are unable to accept any more donations at the current time, but require monetary donations to help get the next shipment to Africa. Please contact them direct to give donations.

We will let you know when we can accept more donations, once our current back log to BreastTalk has been sent. Thank you.
